About Us

About UsHistory: In 1972 Jack Yancey and Kent Owings opened an Ace Hardware store a few blocks away from the existing store location on Church Street. Quickly outgrowing that location and needed a place to expand, Jack and Kent decided to lease the current location that was previously an A&P grocery store. As the years passed, new faces became involved with the business, such as Steve Izenour, they were able expand the employee base (thanks to our loyal customers) Some of these employees have been with the store for quite a few years. Ira ‘Bubba’ Nation (started 1972), Billy Johnson (started 1980), and Barry Duke (started 1977), are all now co-owners and take pride in operating a hometown hardware store that has been able to provide a valuable service to the Douglas County community.
